Preservation of Resources
As an international provider of construction and real estate development services our environmental impacts are expected to be limited and include careful consideration of the use of sometimes precious and limited raw goods and products utilized for construction and consideration of the environmental sustainability of projects we construct.
Buy Local
We are committed to helping contractors identify local sources for building materials and systems, reducing the cost and environmental impact of long-distance transportation. We design many projects with a specific focus on renewable building materials including wood products.

WGPITTS gives back to the community through volunteerism at non-profits and the philanthropy in support of schools, education, and Disaster Assistance.

WGPITTS has a long history of naturally giving back to the community through volunteerism at non-profits and the support of schools and education, philanthropy and Disaster Assistance.
Volunteerism
Since its inception the company has encouraged team members to volunteer their time assisting those in need and have provided paid time to employees to volunteer at local nonprofits. It is the dedicated participation of WG Pitts' team members that is shaping the difference ensuring our company stays strong and vibrant in giving back to the community.
Philanthropy
WGPITTS gives back through our donations to local and nonprofit organizations including American Cancer Society, City Rescue Mission, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Junior League of Jacksonville. Ronald McDonald House Charities, St. Vincent's Medical Center, I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless, Jewish Community Alliance, University of North Florida and many more.
Disaster Assistance
WGPITTS has consistently provided for and assisted through mobilization and construction assistance to people in need that have suffered the impact of natural disasters.

Assiting others in a time of need
Puerto Rico - Hurricane Maria
2017 Following Hurricane Maria Will Pitts and others from WGPITTS mobilized to Puerto Rico to provide assistance to the residents of Puerto Rico after the island suffered the devastating impact of loss of power, water and food distribution. The WGPITTS team arrived on the first commercial flight to land at the San Juan Airport after the hurricane. The WGPITTS team spent time reporting back to Mr. Leonardo Torres at the Emergency Operations Center in San Juan on the conditions of the municipalizes in areas such as Arecibo, Aguadilla and El Yunque. The team delivering meals ready to eat which were provided by WGPITTS to areas in need including the veterans which were reporting daily to the VA clinic in Arecibo. Developing Sustaining Capabilities
Grand Ravine, Port au Prince, Haiti
in 2010 Haiti suffered a magnitude 7.0 earthquake with resulted in catastrophic losses to property and life. Much of the building failure was a s a result of the multi-story structural concrete failure which was not designed or engineered to any code or construction standards. Much of which was constructed without concrete reinforcement or improperly engineering reinforcement.
2012 WGPITTS working with DynCorp International, and the U.S. Department of State/ INL mobilized to Haiti for the construction of the Haitian National Police Headquarters Building in Grand Ravine, Port au Prince, Haiti. The design and construction were to comply with the International Building Code (IBC) and specifically the Electric Code provisions of the IBC.
While much of the Haitian Constuction labor had knowledge of construction means and methods they were not familiar with constructing to the IBC which is required by the UN and United States Government Agencies. As a result, WGPITTS committed to develop capabilities in Haiti with or workforce and subcontractor capabilities. WGPITTS purchased the IBC in French for many of the subcontractors and brought skilled leadership from the mainland U.S. to work with WGPITTS craft workers and subcontractors to teach how to read understand and comply with the IBC.
As a result, WGPITTS left behind a lasting capability to allow many Haitian companies to have the past performance and capability to complete structural concrete and electrical work complying with the IBC,

Shulzbacher Childrens Building, Jacksonville, Florida
The Shulzbacher center in Jacksonville Florida in one of the most impactful non-profits in Northeast Florida assisting families and individuals in need. The Mission of Sulzbacher is to empower homeless and at-risk women, children and men through health, housing and income services thereby restoring hope and self-sufficiency.
In 2005 the Shulzbacher Center had a need of proving a facility that would allow mothers and their children to have a helathly environment out of the dormitores for qulaity time together and for education.
WGPITTS and DR Horton teamed up to lead the charge to donate a new Children's Building to the Shulzbacher Center. The two company donated materials, labor, supervision and led the team of their many vendors & subcontractors in donating construction services and all material and labor to provide the Children's Center at the Sulzbacher Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

WGPITTS working with builder, developer and philanthropist JD Collins jointly donated the design, engineering materials and labor to construct and donate the new baseball stadium and restroom facilities to Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.

WGPITTS is a proud supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Jacksonville. Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Jacksonville supports the health and well-being of children by providing lodging, meals, transportation and a community of care to critically ill children and their families who need to be near a hospital for treatment.
WGPITTS proudly donated the the magnificent stair tower Aviarium design and glass and steel cable art installation for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville.

Glass Aviarium
WGPITTS donated the installation of the magnificent 3-story stair tower blown glass aviarium design for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville.
WG Pitts employees, along with the glass artist Andy Peters, volunteered to build the installation. It's now on display for the families and staff to enjoy for years to come.
Children's Playroom
In 2015, WG Pitts donated its architectural design services for the new children's playroom at Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville.
Volonteering at Ronald McDonald House
WG Pitts is honored to prepare dinner for the families of Ronald Mcdonald House Charities of Jacksonville. Volunteer opportunities include assisting families and staff at the House, caring for families in the Ronald McDonald Family Room® at Wolfson Children's Hospital and joining us at our annual special events. Volunteers also provide dinner for our families every evening. The meal program is a great way to get your civic or corporate group involved.
MCGala
WGPITTS donated the invitation design, and the design and construction of a uniquely themed bourbon bar, for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville's Mardi Gras McGala Event. 500 supporters and community patrons celebrated the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities in "Big Easy" style at the 2016 Mardi Gras McGALA. The evening included a delicious dinner, live entertainment by The Band Be Easy, a fabulous silent auction, dancing, and a heartfelt program highlighting the families served, and the programs and services provided by RMHC of Jacksonville.

WGPITTS was a major sponsor of the 2015 1st Annual "Reel in the Cure" Northeast Florida Marlin Association fishing tournament.
Proceeds were donated to Pink up the Pace, a local St. Augustine charity that assists the underinsured with the early detection of breast cancer.
